mother channels inner cannibalism and attempts to devour baby

 

A severe, long lasting form of depression known as postpartum depression, is a type of clinical depression that can affect a certain handful of women after giving childbirth. But recently in China, a woman named Li Zhenghua, 24 years old, was discovered to have attempted to consume her infant shortly after giving birth.

Before the child was given birth, some people have reportedly seen Li wandering around the streets during her labor. According to some, she was suspect of being mentally unstable and appears to be without a home. When she was taken to the hospital to deliver her child, shortly after she tried to eat the innocent young baby.

One of the nurses have noticed Li was trying to devour her baby's arm and the nurse, aware of the situation immediately rescued the baby as even the mentally ill-driven mother wouldn't let go of her child's arm. With the help of other hospital staffs, they took away the baby from the mother's arms and distanced the baby. The infant's arm can be seen with bite marks, signs of bleeding and charred skin.

The infant's wounds was treated, and the mother is undergoing rehabilitation in a local government care facility.

According to local authorities, Li's supposed mother-in-law had abandoned her on the streets before she was even pregnant because of her weird antics as she started going ballistic at home.
